Never look back

In another collaborative work with two other artists, LiQin and Huang Yifan, titled "Don't Look Back," the dual disembodiment and swapping of body and soul are achieved through the performances of two actors. Under the high pressure of modern society, the mental health issues of young people are becoming increasingly severe. Hallucinations, auditory hallucinations, somatic symptoms, and cognitive disorders can greatly affect a person's state.

Against this backdrop, the two actors portray varying degrees of mental illness symptoms through body language, seeking the existence of a "universal body" on a narrative level. Although the actors have different appearances, after being edited using "montage" techniques, they give the illusion of being the same person. At the end of the film, the actor walks onto the empty theater stage and dances a solo waltz, eventually collapsing to the ground in a nearly manic posture, laughing as they take their final bow.

This is not only a direct portrayal of a certain mental illness but also aims to dispel prejudices about mental illness by directly confronting its symptoms: mental illnesses are not metaphors for punishment, nor are they moral judgments, but simply physiological phenomena. As American writer and critic Susan Sontag pointed out in her work "Illness as Metaphors": "Illness is not a metaphor, and the most sincere way to look at illness — and the healthiest way for the patient to approach his illness — is to resist the metaphoric impulse."
